Joint CIC on Crew Wages and Seafarer Employment Agreements (MLC, 2006)
We remind all interested parties – Ship Owners, Operators, Managers, and Masters, of the upcoming Joint Concentrated Inspection Campaign (CIC) on Crew Wages and Seafarer Employment Agreements, conducted by the Member Authorities of the Tokyo and Paris MoUs on Port State Control. This campaign aims to ensure compliance with the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC, 2006) provisions regarding crew wages, seafarer employment agreements (SEAs), and financial securities.

Key Details:
  • Duration: 1 September 2024 – 30 November 2024
  • Focus Areas: Crew wages, SEAs, and financial securities (repatriation and shipowners’ liability)
  • Inspection Process: Each ship will undergo one inspection under this CIC using a predefined questionnaire to verify compliance.
This campaign serves to increase awareness within the industry and ensure that all vessels meet the necessary standards set out under MLC, 2006. Please ensure that all relevant documentation and practices are up-to-date to avoid any compliance issues.
