New Nile floating hotel will be constructed under PRS supervision

At the beginning of October, a contract for the construction of a new floating hotel under the supervision of the Polish Register of Shipping was signed by PRS Ship Division director, Aleksander Łegowski.The newbuilding will be built for Aber Crombie & Kent Egypt and will get the name “Nile Intrepid”. As the name shows itself the vessel will be sailing on the Nile River.

The owner of the ship – Aber Crombie & Kent Egypt – is a well-known luxury travel company with over 55 offices in more than 30 countries. The company employs more than 2,500 dedicated travel experts globally.

“Nile Intrepid” will be a 5-star deluxe hotel with 4 decks. Her home port will be Cairo and she will be flying the flag of the Arabic Republic of Egypt.

The new floating hotel’s principal dimensions are:

  • Classification length of 72 m
  • Breadth of 14,4 m
  • Draft 1,6 m.

The hotel will be constructed at Maasara Shipyard in Cairo. The scope of PRS works includes technical documentation approval, a survey of the construction, and the assignment of PRS class. This assignment was entrusted to our PRS Cairo Branch led by Mohamed El-Rawi where we have surveyors with the best experience in floating hotels’ constructions.

A kick-off meeting inaugurated the construction that is planned to be completed by the middle of 2025.
