Celebrating 40 Years of the Singapore Shipping Association

On 26 September 2025, the Singapore Shipping Association (SSA) celebrated its 40th anniversary during a gala event held at the prestigious Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.

Founded in 1985, SSA is an industry organization established to support and promote the interests of its members and to strengthen Singapore’s position as an International Maritime Centre. Today, SSA represents over 485 companies, including shipowners and operators, shipping agents, shipbrokers, classification societies, marine insurers, bunker suppliers, law firms, banks, and many other entities connected to the maritime and shipping industry.

An Event Gathering the Global Maritime Community

The anniversary gala brought together over 2,600 participants, representing SSA members and their business partners. Among the guests was the Polish Register of Shipping (PRS), represented by Mr. Leszek Pokora, Executive Director of PRS (Shanghai) Vessel Inspection Company Limited.

PRS Cooperation with SSA Members and Growth in the Region

Participation in the event highlights the strong relationship between the Polish Register of Shipping and the members of the Singapore Shipping Association. PRS continues to expand its operations in the Southeast Asian markets, recognizing the significant economic and strategic potential of this region. Cooperation with shipowners and the supervision of vessels under their management are integral elements of PRS’s strategy, which focuses on ensuring safety at sea and protecting the marine environment.
