PRS advances plans for a representative office in Vietnam. Visit at VIMOX 2026.

PRS participation in VIMOX 2026 in Ho Chi Minh City marked another step in strengthening cooperation with Vietnam’s maritime sector and advancing preparations for the opening of a PRS representative office in the country.

Exploring new opportunities for maritime cooperation

During the visit, Karol Pokora, Business Development Specialist at the PRS Shanghai Branch Office, met with representatives of the local maritime industry to discuss opportunities for cooperation with shipowners, shipping companies, shipyards and industry partners.

Poland’s technical expertise recognised in Vietnam

The discussions confirmed the positive perception of Poland in Vietnam, particularly its technical expertise, engineering capabilities and longstanding shipbuilding traditions. Historical ties between the two countries continue to play an important role, including the education and training of Vietnamese specialists in Poland and decades of professional cooperation in engineering and the maritime sector.

As one of Europe’s significant shipbuilding centres during the second half of the twentieth century, Poland made a lasting contribution to the development of the global maritime industry.

Strengthening economic relations between Poland and Vietnam

PRS visit coincided with the official visit of Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk to Vietnam, underlining the importance of further strengthening economic relations between the two countries. The maritime sector offers significant opportunities to combine Poland’s technical expertise with Vietnam’s rapidly developing maritime industry.

Preparations for a PRS representative office

PRS is currently preparing to establish a representative office in Vietnam, with Ho Chi Minh City considered a particularly promising location. A local presence would enable closer cooperation with Vietnamese shipowners and maritime businesses while supporting the further development of PRS activities across Southeast Asia.

The planned office forms part of PRS broader strategy to strengthen its international network and expand cooperation with shipowners, shipyards and maritime industry partners in rapidly growing Asian markets.
