A new chapter of cooperation between UDT and PRS

On January 22, 2025, the Office of Technical Inspection (UDT) and the Polish Register of Shipping (PRS) signed a letter of intent. The document will enable the development of cooperation between our institutions in the areas of their competence. In particular, we count on collaboration in tasks related to offshore wind farms.

Below is the agreed press release and a few photos from the event.

“The Office of Technical Inspection (UDT) and the Polish Register of Shipping (PRS) announce the signing of a letter of intent regarding cooperation. The signatories of the letter are the President of the Office of Technical Inspection, Dr. Eng. Paweł Urbańczyk, and the President of the Polish Register of Shipping, Grzegorz Pettke, and Member of the Management Board Jacek Witt.

President Paweł Urbańczyk emphasized the importance of this cooperation: We are glad that we are starting cooperation with such an important entity as PRS. The signing of the agreement between the Office of Technical Inspection and the Polish Register of Shipping is an important step towards further improving the competencies of both institutions to ensure the highest safety standards.

Signing the letter of intent with the Office of Technical Inspection is an opportunity for the Polish Register of Shipping to develop further and set new safety standards. We believe that combining the competencies and experience of both institutions will allow for more effective implementation of innovative solutions and staff development. This cooperation is a significant step towards strengthening the position of Polish technical supervision bodies on domestic and international markets. In my opinion, the collaboration between PRS and UDT will increase the efficiency and quality of services provided to our clients – stated  President Grzegorz Pettke.

The purpose of cooperation between UDT and PRS is to:

– conduct research works on issues related to the safe functioning of technical devices;

– implement projects related to the development and implementation of product, process, and organizational innovations;

– initiate and implement projects aimed at improving the qualifications, skills, and competencies of employees of both parties;

– perform technical expertise following competencies”.
