PRS at MARINTEC CHINA 2025: strengthening presence in the Asia–Pacific market

Marintec China 2025 – the Largest Maritime Industry Event in the Region

Marintec China 2025, held in Shanghai on 2–5 December 2025, is recognized as one of the largest maritime industry exhibitions in the region and was described by Chinese media as the most significant maritime event of 2025.

The exhibition became a central meeting point for the shipbuilding sector, shipowners, and marine technology suppliers. More than 2,200 exhibitors from over 30 countries presented their offerings across more than 110,000 square meters of exhibition space, complemented by 16 national pavilions.

Why PRS participated in the exhibition

Participation in Marintec China 2025 represented another important step in strengthening the presence of the Polish Register of Shipping in one of the world’s most rapidly developing maritime markets. The event enabled PRS to present its latest activities and competencies in ship classification, marine equipment certification, and conformity assessment.

Presentation of expertise and interest in PRS services

Marintec China 2025 brought together leading representatives of the global shipbuilding industry, shipowners, technology suppliers, and classification societies, providing an excellent platform to showcase PRS capabilities and establish new business relationships.

The PRS stand attracted considerable interest. Our representatives conducted many constructive and productive discussions with shipowners operating in China and the ASEAN (Association of South-East Asian Nations) region, as well as with marine equipment manufacturers and representatives of the shipbuilding sector.

The key role of the PRS Shanghai Branch Office

The PRS Shanghai Branch Office, headed by Director Leszek Pokora, played a crucial organizational and substantive role during the exhibition—both in preparing PRS participation and in conducting business meetings. Thanks to the PRS team in Shanghai, which has extensive knowledge of the regional market and industry specifics, PRS is able to carry out effective surveys, support clients locally, and further develop cooperation with shipowners.

Support from PRS Headquarters

In addition to the Shanghai Office team — where Deputy Manager Chong Wang and Business Development Specialist Karol Pokora hold key roles — the exhibition was also attended by representatives of PRS Headquarters in Gdańsk. Headquarters support included Aleksander Łęgowski, Director of the Ships Division, Bartosz Dombrzalski, Deputy Manager of the Machinery and Equipment Department, and Kacper Dziemianko, Head of the Product and Personnel Certification Office, together with Jakub Skiba, Technical Assistant at the Certification Bureau.

Senior management presence appreciated by shipowners

Shipowners attending the exhibition highly valued the opportunity for direct discussions with Director Łęgowski and the Head of the PRS Shanghai Branch, Leszek Pokora. Their presence at the stand was perceived as a clear signal of PRS senior management’s strong commitment to developing international cooperation and strengthening relationships with key business partners in China and ASEAN countries.

The involvement of PRS leaders not only reinforced relationships with existing clients but also opened new opportunities for cooperation with shipowners seeking a stable and flexible classification partner in the Asia–Pacific region.

Networking with ASMI

PRS also had the honor of participating in the Networking Reception organized by the Association of Singapore Marine Industries (ASMI). The event offered a valuable opportunity to establish numerous contacts with partners operating in Singapore and represented an important step in PRS further development and expansion into ASEAN markets.

Summary of PRS participation

Marintec China 2025 proved to be a major success for PRS, bringing tangible benefits:

  • numerous new business contacts,
  • strengthened cooperation with existing clients,
  • increased visibility of the PRS brand in Asia,
  • reinforced role of the PRS Shanghai Branch Office in the company’s international activities.

Marintec China 2025 confirmed that PRS presence in the Asia–Pacific region is strategically important and significantly enhances the organization’s position in the global maritime industry. Meetings with shipowners and industry stakeholders opened new avenues for cooperation and strengthened the PRS brand recognition in China and ASEAN countries.
