Cooperation between PRS and Stocznia Szczecińska “Wulkan”
We are proud to announce that the Polish Register of Shipping (PRS), under an agreement signed on 23 July 2025 with the Management Board of Stocznia Szczecińska “Wulkan” sp. z o.o., is supervising the construction of a modern specialist vessel – a buoy tender – being built for the Maritime Office in Szczecin. The contract for the project was signed on 22 April 2025 with Stocznia Szczecińska “Wulkan” as the contractor.
Project Objective – enhancing safe shipping
The project aims to enhance navigational safety in ports, on waterways, and across the waters of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship – including the Szczecin Lagoon and the roadsteads of smaller ports. The new vessel will be a key asset in maintaining and improving navigational aids throughout the region.
Vessel Characteristics
The new buoy tender will be a specialist vessel, designed in accordance with the “Rules for the Classification and Construction of Sea-Going Ships,” intended for operation in Region III with ice class L1. This will also enable it to work in challenging weather conditions (up to 6°B and sea state 4).
The vessel will be equipped with a modern deck crane, capstan, and an enlarged working deck, which will significantly enhance its operational capabilities for navigational marking tasks.
The vessel’s launching is planned for the end of 2026.
Main Technical Parameters
- Overall length: 29.00 m
- Overall breadth:30 m
- Height to main deck:70 m

We are pleased to undertake another joint project with Stocznia Szczecińska “Wulkan” and look forward to continuing our successful cooperation.
